Assalama Alaik-am (“Peace Be Upon You”). My name is Henry Wise IV but my friends call me Salim (“Peace Maker”). I am a 29-year-old black male. I’m 6’2”, 270 pounds, with a solid, muscular build. I have light brown hazel eyes. I sport a low wavy cut and I have a few tattoos. I don’t have any kids, but I have four beautiful nieces, who I love and adore as if they were my own daughters.

I’m interested in making friends with individuals who will be a positive influence upon me, as I will Inshallah (“God Willing”) try to be upon them. Individuals who will elevate and constructively build with me as I prepare for my Inshallah. Soon to be released. Daily constant seeking the good pleasure of Allah (“God”). Respect, loyalty, and truthfulness to family, friends, associates and compassion for one’s neighbors are character traits I greatly value in myself and the people I will choose to befriend through this pen-pal medium.

I occupy my time learning Islaam and offering at the least the five obligating salats (“prayers”). I also read, write drama, and exercise. I thrive on learning new and interesting stuff, elevating and building myself up spiritually, mentally and physically.

I’m striving to beat the statistics that claim a black ex-convict is most likely to return to prison after they’re released. I’m not perfect, but I do try my best to live my life now in accordance with the will of Allah. And that has brought me the most peace in my life when there once was very little.
